Dr. Ashley Maru, Esquire

Dr. Ashley Maru is the managing partner of Future Firm Law, and he leads the Personal Injury Practice Group. Dr. Maru is a board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologist, specializing in musculoskeletal (MSK) radiology. He has spent over a decade using his medical skills to help personal injury patients by diagnosing their injuries on MRI, CT, and X-ray. He has worked at prestigious places such as Tampa General Hospital, Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the University of South Florida, and Tower Radiology Centers. As a doctor, Dr. Maru witnessed first-hand the mental and physical toll caused by medical injuries that most lawyers never see. His passion for helping patients led him to create a personal injury division at Tower Radiology.

Dr. Maru first branched into the legal field as a medical expert witness who testified in several personal injury trials. He observed how actual medical knowledge would help a lawyer fully understand the extent of their clients’ injuries, and realized that this understanding could help get the compensation clients deserved. He also saw how an attorney with a medical degree would be helpful to challenge opposing doctors who testify against personal injury clients in serious and/or complex injury cases. Dr. Maru took it upon himself to fill this need and earned his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, FL. Prior to law school, Dr. Maru obtained his M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his diagnostic radiology residency and musculoskeletal radiology fellowship in Georgia and Maryland, respectively. Dr. Maru also attained an M.B.A. during his diagnostic radiology residency.

When he is not furthering his own education, Dr. Maru enjoys teaching others as an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida. He also enjoys spending time with his friends and family, discovering new places to travel, staying fit and being on the water.
